Odyssey is a high-expectation, school-year program focusing on academic support, sports,
personal development, and career exploration for girls in middle school. Girls attend after
school until 6:30 p.m., twice a week from October through June. This important after-school
time is not only critical for the enrichment activities offered each girl, but also provides our
girls with a nurturing, safe environment where self-esteem and personal values are the focus.
Each afternoon in Odyssey includes academic time during which the girls receive assistance
with their homework and school projects from the staff and high school tutors. Academic time
also includes hands-on workshops to help the girls develop the skills they need to succeed
academically. The girls participate in national Girls Inc. programs such as Operation SMART
(Science, Math and Relevant Technology); Will Power/Won’t Power; and Equal Earners:
Savvy Spenders. They attend regular field trips, celebrations, and special events.
Transportation from school to the program is provided.
