Teen Health Ambassadors are a group of six female peer leaders dedicated to peer outreach
throughout the city of Lynn. The overall goal of the group is to educate and prevent unwanted teen
pregnancy, STD’s, HIV/AIDS and promote healthy choices.

The Teen Health Ambassadors partner with the North Shore Medical Center mobile van to provide
outreach at the local high schools, parks and beaches. During this time, the peer leaders while under
adult supervision may provide contraception, referrals to local hospitals and community centers, and
health information.

These teens also provide health information through our Sister- to-Sister program. The peer leaders act
as mentors with younger teens and help them become leaders within their schools and communities.
The program also has a pregnancy prevention component and workshops on teen health and sexuality.
Such topics may include HIV/AID’S and STD’s, Pregnancy prevention, healthy relationships, body image,
and healthy choices.

Teen Health Ambassadors facilitate workshops for youth at many community organizations including the
Lynn Housing Authority, Girls and Boys Club, and the YMCA.

The peer leaders have participated in numerous community events including:
• The Harmony Among Lynn Teens annual conference
• Lynn AIDS walk
• World Aids Day
• Girls HIV forum
• Connecting for Change Youth Summit
• Part of the Solution Youth Counsel
