Teen Health Ambassadors

Teen Health Ambassadors consists of 6 - 10 teens who promote healthy choices as they educate other teens on preventing HIV/AIDS, STDs, teen pregnancy, and healthy relationships. They also deliver workshops on topics related to health such as self esteem, values, and decision making. Teens are active in their schools and are viewed as leaders among their peers. When Teen Health Ambassadors are not delivering workshops, they provide outreach by handing out informational brochures and promoting community health resources. Teens also reach out by making contraceptive methods available to adolescents aboard North Shore Medical Center’s health van on Monday and Wednesday afternoons from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. Teen Health Ambassadors is currently in partnerships with North Shore Medical Center, Lynn Community Health Center, Lynn Department of Education, Lynn School Based Health Centers, and the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn.

If you would like to plan a workshop for your group or are interested in becoming a member of Teen Health Ambassadors, please contact:  Markyse Dorceus, Teen Health Ambassador Advisor
phone: (781) 592-9744 ext. 215, or by email: mdorceus.lynn@girls-inc.org
