Volunteer Tutors Needed
Volunteers are needed in our Career
Learning Center to tutor High School students in a particular
subject. Frequently one to three sessions are enough. The most common
subject areas include all the Math's, Chemistry, Biology, English, Creative
Writing, Spanish & French.
Additionally, teens need assistance in writing college and financial aid
essays. Tutors often meet with a teen for one hour of tutoring after which they
jointly decide whether to schedule additional sessions. All meetings are done at
the Teen Center with a quite
area provided.
One hour of tutoring can often change the way a teen may approach a subject or
problem, reduce their stress and frustration along with showing them that others
care and believe in them.
